Ritual: This ritual, once completed, prevents any creature from entering within a thirty foot radius of the lead Shugenja unless in succeeds in a contested skill roll of the Shugenja's Void + the Ranks of the participating Shugenja vs. its Willpower. The radius of the spell can be increased by 15 feet per Raise. The range of this spell is magnified ten-fold if cast within a temple. The Shugenja's Void is increased by 3 for the purpose of overcoming this spell if cast within a temple.

Switches the target's values of his physical and mental subtaits in each element. Willpower becomes Strength, Intuition becomes Reflexes, and vice versa.

Conceals the target item upon the target personality. The Shugenja must be able to touch both item and target to cast the spell. If successful the item become visually imperceptible to others so long as the target item is not readied or used. The item must be able to be carried without the use of the target's hands. The TN of this spell increased if the GM judges the item to be substantially difficult for people to normally ignore (a screaming child, the Emperor's crown, etc…)

While this spell is in effect, the target's next die roll has all of its even-numbered dice doubled. This spell only affects the target's next die roll. 10s are re-rolled normally, and re-rolled dice are also doubled if even. This spell ends once the target rolls the doubled dice.

This spell summons the spirit of an Ancestral Samurai who fights for the Shugenja until the duration of the spell ends or until destroyed.

Allows the shugenja to probe the essence of the target. For each Raise the shugenja can learn one of the following about the target. All Ring levels, Honor & Glory & Rank, Techniques known, spells known.

When cast successfully the target of this spell must make a contested Willpower roll against the Shugenja's Elemental Mastery of Void. If the target fails, he/she magically becomes dumbfounded as is unable to move or act in any fashion. For each Raise the Shugenja may add one target to the spell.

When cast, the Shugenja selects a target (which may be himself). The target has a wound penalty of one less for the duration of the spell. The wound penalty can be further decreased by 1 level per Raise. The Shugenja does not need to maintain this spell and may act freely for its duration.

This spell encompasses the target into a dome of darkenss ten feet in radius in which no non-magical light can penetrate or illuminate. Each Raise increases radius by five feet. The Shugenja may still see normally

Spiritual Presence

Allows the Shugenja to send his Chi to aid the target. During the duration the Shugenja's body lies devoid of spirit. The Shugenja's spirit aids the target's spirit by adding the Shugenja's traits (except void) to the target's own. The Shugenja shares awareness with the target and not his own inert body. If the target dies while the Shugenja's spirit is present within it, the spell ends abruptly and the Shugenja suffers damage of DR 3+3.

When cast successfully, this spell reduces the Trait (and subtraits) of one character by 2 and increases the same trait of another character by the same amount. No trait can be reduced below one. The TN is equal to the Trait times five of the character that is losing the Trait. The Shugenja does not need to maintain this spell and may act freely during the duration of the spell. This spell does not transfer any void points.

The Arrow Knows the Way

Cast upon an nocked arrow, it imbues the arrow with magic to increase its damage and chance to hit. Per Raise the archer gains 5 to his TN skill roll and one extra die of damage is rolled.

The Elements' Fury

Ritual, Single Use: This spell will strike out with all five elements at a number of targets within 200' equal to the number of Shugenja in the ritual. Each strike has a DR equal to one participating Shugenja Void keeping dice equal to his Rank. Multiple strikes can be directed at the same target. The range can be increased by 50' per Raise.

Single Use: Manifests a common item in the caster's hand. Common items are; ropes, swords, food, clothes, paper, etc… Raises allow uncommon items can be manifested; armor, horse, Go set, etc…. By Imperial edict Shugenja are forbidden from manifesting money (as it would destroy the economy). To manifest a particular spell scroll the TN is equal to five times the spells Mastery. GMs should not let PCs abuse this spell.

Whisper from the Void

If the caster's Intelligence overcomes the target's Willpower in a contested roll then the target is affected by a one word command from the caster. The command cannot be self-destructive or contradictory against the target's nature. A non-contradictory one would be to make a tired person sleep, a scared person run, or a mad person fight.

Amaterasu's Mirror - Void - PHOENIX CLAN

The sun goddess beholds all under her vision. The Shugenja may see the past of any item he/she holds in the reflection of a mirror. The reflected vision can only see the item when it stands in daylight. The Shugenja can move the mirror to view the surroundings of the item in the past. The TN of this spell is increased five per day in the past the Shugenja wishes to look.
